You are bidding on a comic trade paperback entitled “Moebius 1: Upon A Star, The Collected Fantasies OF Jean Giraud”, published by Epic/Marvel in 1987. This 1st Edition 2nd printing trade paperback is the first of a collection of early short works by Moebius, fully translated French into English, making their first appearance in the United States at the time. This volume includes “Upon A Star”, as well as a short companion piece “The Repairman”, which had first been commissioned in France 4 years earlier. The book is in good condition, with some minor reading wear (looks like it was read once and placed on a shelf). Jean Henri Gaston Giraud (born May 8, 1938[1]) is a French comics artist. Giraud has earned worldwide fame, not only under his own name but also under the pseudonym Moebius, and to a lesser extent Gir, the latter appearing mostly in the form of a boxed signature at the bottom of the artist’s paintings, for instance the volumes’ covers. Giraud’s prestige in France – where comics are held in high artistic regard – is enormous; France has even issued postage stamps to commemorate him.
